Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

Be prepared when help is hours away.

WyoMed’s Wilderness First Aid course is a hands-on, two-day program for people who live, work, or recreate far from immediate medical care.

Training takes place primarily outdoors and focuses on patient assessment, practical treatment, improvisation, evacuation decisions, and prolonged care in remote environments.

You’ll Learn

Individual Registration: $325 per student

All course materials and hands-on training equipment are included.

MARCH-CHECK™ is WyoMed’s original wilderness patient-assessment framework, developed by Isaac Stiles in 2025 for practical use in remote and austere environments.

STOP THE BLEED®

Learn to control life-threatening bleeding before EMS arrives.

This nationally recognized, hands-on course teaches participants how to recognize severe bleeding and control it using direct pressure, wound packing, and commercial tourniquets.

No medical experience is required.

Bleeding Control: Hands-On Skills Lab

Develop confidence through realistic, repeated practice.

This optional skills lab provides advanced bleeding-control practice using TrueClot® wound trainers, simulated blood, deep wound cavities, and realistic injury models.

The session is designed to go beyond introductory bleeding-control training through repeated, coached practice.

  • Deep wound packing

  • Junctional hemorrhage control

  • Pressure dressing application

  • Simulated hemostatic gauze use

  • Maintaining effective compression

  • Identifying ineffective techniques

  • Managing realistic bleeding scenarios

Prerequisite: Previous or same-day completion of STOP THE BLEED®

Skills Lab Add-On: $50 per student

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Professional CPR training for healthcare providers and first responders.

This American Heart Association course teaches high-quality CPR, AED use, ventilation, choking care, and coordinated team response for adults, children, and infants.

Training is led by a practicing paramedic and EMS instructor using professional training equipment and experience-driven instruction.

  • Effective ventilations

  • Choking care

  • Single-rescuer response

  • Team-based resuscitation

Course Details

Length: Approximately 4 hours
Format: In-person, hands-on instruction and skills testing
Audience: Healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, dental staff, clinical workers, and first responders
Certification: American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for 2 years

Heartsaver First Aid & CPR

Practical emergency training for the people already on scene.

This American Heart Association course prepares non-medical responders to manage common medical emergencies until professional help arrives.

Students receive hands-on training in adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, choking care, first aid, bleeding control, allergic reactions, and opioid-overdose response.

  • Epinephrine auto-injector assistance
